The glue down method involves the use of an adhesive to adhere your LVP or LVT to its base for flooring or wallcovering installations. Using an adhesive creates dimensional stability that ensures the surface maintains its natural characteristics.

Loose Lay Vinyl Flooring

Installation Method

Though installation instructions may vary depending on manufacturer or installer, typically loose lay vinyl flooring is installed by first gluing down planks or tiles around the perimeter of the space and then loosely laying the remaining planks or tiles without an adhesive. The LVP or LVT flooring stays in place with traction from the specialized backing.

Rigid Core Flooring

Installation Method

Rigid core vinyl flooring is an SPC (stone plastic composite) product comprised typically of limestone that clicks together for ease of installation. Featuring Uniclic® technology, rigid core flooring is installed without an adhesive by snapping the planks or tiles into place using its tongue-and-groove click locking system.

Industry Uses

With an attached 1mm IXPE acoustic backing, Parterre’s Rigid Core vinyl flooring has sound reduction properties that work well in light commercial or residential environments, particularly multiple family settings like living spaces of apartment complexes or hotel guest rooms.
